Do I have to think about data protection by design and default? #GDPR

Yes. Designing systems and procedures with recognition of data protection principle has long been important and it is now a requirement of the GDPR. There is also a requirement in certain cases to appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO). This requirement is intended for public authorities but by a quirk of legislation applies to community pharmacies as well. The DPO role, based on the responsibilities described in the GDPR. For smaller pharmacies, it may be necessary for the owner of the pharmacy or superintendent pharmacist to wear two hats and be both the individual responsible for IG compliance and the DPO.
