GDPR: Do i need to register with the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office)?

Yes. From 25 May 2018, the Data Protection (Charges and Information) Regulations 2018 requires every organisation or sole trader who processes personal information to pay a data protection fee to the ICO, unless they are exempt.

There is a small date protection fee to register and they will, in turn, provide you with an ICO registration number. For most organisations, it will be £40 or £60.

If you have a number of Organisations/Companies then you can contact the ICO and arrange payment. Separate fees must be paid for each company individually if it is processing personal information.

More information on how to pay is available on the ICO website here.
