Smoking Cessation: We have a patient who completed smoking cessation quite recently, but he has returned and want to start the course again. Is this allowed?

Yes, a patient can return to the pharmacy and re-start the smoking cessation programme.

It can take many attempts before a successful quit is achieved, and you are able to support this. Consideration should be given as to whether support is required from your local specialist service where a patient has repeated attempts. Please ensure the previous quit attempt has been fully closed and completed in the PCR before launching a new quit attempt in the smoking cessation tool.
